Suzan Kereere is responsible for growth strategies and innovation for Visa’s largest merchants around the globe. Kereere has built her career in the payments industry across a spectrum of disciplines, including finance, global operations, servicing and business development. She has managed both business-to-business and consumer segments to drive topline growth and profitability. Kereere has led global businesses and teams in Europe, Australia, Asia and North America. Before joining Visa, she held senior positions at American Express, where she managed relationships with Fortune 100 merchants, negotiating complex commercial agreements that launched innovative technologies, including reward points as currency and multi-billion-dollar business-to-business growth partnerships. As the head of the Global Network organization, she led the strategy and execution of American Express’ migration to EMV and launch of contactless payments. Kereere has served on the boards of the National Retail Federation Foundation, the U.S. Travel Association, the American Red Cross (New York Chapter) and the Zawadi Africa Educational Fund. She serves as an advisor to Dataposit, a technology startup in Africa. She holds a master of business administration degree from Columbia Business School and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Tufts University.
