Air India Express

Mr. Aloke Singh is the Managing Director of Air India Express. Air India Express is a subsidiary of Air India and a part of the Tata group, operating over 400 flights daily across 32 domestic and 14 international airports, with a fleet of 89 aircraft, comprising 61 Boeing 737s and 28 Airbus A320s. The group airlines are undergoing a transformation programme even as they enter a growth phase on the back of one of the world’s largest commercial aircraft orders.

Aloke joined Air India Express in November 2020 and has played a pivotal role in driving the airline's recovery following the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. He successfully developed the airline's business continuity plans, ensuring its overall growth and profitability. In early 2023, he was appointed as the common MD of Air India Express and AirAsia India as they moved ahead on a planned merger track. On October 18, 2023 Air India Express and AirAsia India successfully unveiled a common, refreshed branding as ‘Air India Express’ and completed the legal and operational merger on October 01, 2024.

Before his current position, Singh held several leadership roles at Air India and a Gulf-based carrier, spanning strategy, network planning, revenue management, and commercial operations. Aloke Singh holds a bachelor's degree in Economics and Political Science from Panjab University, an MBA from the Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi and has attended the London School of Economics under the Chevening Fellowship programme.
