SVP, Domestic Planning and United Express
United Airlines
Ankit Gupta is United’s senior vice president of domestic planning and United Express. He is responsible for the operation and strategy of the United Express network in addition to leading the domestic planning team.
Ankit’s leadership in developing the United Next vision has United poised to exceed customer expectations and meet the resurgence in air travel. In a matter of months, he helped United execute network strategies that would ordinarily take years to develop.
As United continues to play an ongoing and key role in the U.S. economic recovery, Ankit will continue to help shape United’s domestic network with a fleet that spans the CRJ-550 to cutting- edge mainline narrow body aircraft.
Prior to this role, Ankit was United’s vice president of domestic network planning and scheduling. In this role, he was responsible for setting United’s long-term strategy and capacity decisions for domestic markets. He led efforts to build out new growth strategy across the domestic network.
Previously, Ankit was the managing director of planning, and while in that role, expanded United’s participation in high-yield markets and entering new markets — adding over 300 daily departures and service to 26 new destinations. Ankit also initiated plans to significantly enhance the role of United’s interior hubs.
Before joining United, Ankit was the managing director of commercial and fleet strategy at American Airlines. His previous experience included roles in network planning, finance, fleet planning and cargo revenue management.
Ankit received a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Punjab Engineering College at Punjab University in Chandigarh, India, and his MBA from Vanderbilt.
