Cybersource, a Visa solution

Carleigh Jaques is General Manager, Global Head of Cybersource, a Visa solution. She is responsible for setting the strategic direction and product roadmap for the Cybersource and Authorize.Net Global Payment Management Platform which supports over 480,000 merchants worldwide. This includes 70+ airlines (28 of the global top 50) as well as leading hotel, OTA, restaurant/delivery and car rental brands across the travel and tourism sector.​
Prior to this Ms. Jaques was Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Strategy, Global M&A and Corporate Development for Visa Inc. The Global Strategy team sets Visa’s corporate and innovation strategy agendas and partners with the business to execute at the local client and country level or through product development and go to market. The M&A and Corporate Development group leads Visa’s engagement in a range of transactions from strategic investments through joint ventures and acquisitions. ​

Ms. Jaques founded the M&A and Corporate Development group in 2008. She played a key role in the acquisition of Visa Europe as well as identifying and negotiating Visa’s $2 billion acquisition of Cybersource in the ecommerce segment and its acquisitions of Cardinal Commerce, TrialPay, GPNet, Fundamo and PlaySpan. Ms. Jaques has also established a number of U.S. and international joint ventures. ​

Prior to joining Visa, Ms. Jaques spent 15 years in investment banking, the last 12 of which were at Deutsche Bank in the firm’s technology mergers and acquisitions practice where she was a Managing Director. She has significant technology domain expertise in mobile communications, security, enterprise software, analytics and internet infrastructure. During her tenure in investment banking, Ms. Jaques advised clients on a range of transactions including acquisitions, asset purchases, cross-border deals, divestitures, joint ventures, leveraged buyouts, mergers of equals, recaps, and equity and debt issuances. ​

Ms. Jaques received an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from the University of Michigan. She is an active speaker at industry and educational forums including The Wharton School Executive Education series, the Thomson Reuters Western M&A conference and the Stanford Law School.
