Daniel Durazo is Director of Marketing and Communications for Allianz Global Assistance USA, a global leader in travel insurance and assistance. Allianz Global Assistance has operations in 35 countries with more than 17,000 associates and is a unit of Munich-based Allianz SE, one of the world’s largest integrated financial services and insurance companies.

Daniel has more than 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing and is an expert in media relations, reputation management and crisis communications. At Allianz, Daniel has pioneered the use of internal and external research to drive media relations results and he developed the annual Allianz Travel Insurance Vacation Confidence Index, which is used by travel media as a barometer of the health of the travel economy. Daniel also developed the company’s travel influencer program, which creates partnerships with top travel influencers to educate consumers about Allianz travel insurance products.

Daniel is a frequently quoted travel insurance expert and has appeared in numerous broadcasts and articles that have appeared in The New York Times, CNBC, USA TODAY, Condé Nast Traveler, Travel & Leisure, Travel Weekly, Travel Pulse, Travel Agent, Travel Market Report and many others. Daniel manages external communications for Allianz Global Assistance, which includes media relations, social media, reputation management, opinion leader and influencer programs and more.

He is a graduate of the University of Maryland, College of Journalism.
