Joe is the Chief Commercial Officer of Abra Group, the holding company of Avianca, Gol and Wamos Air.

Joe began his career working in the United States Senate in the areas of intelligence and foreign policy before attaining his MBA from Georgetown University.  Upon graduation, Joe worked in various strategic positions at Continental Airlines during its historic “worst to first” period.  Prior to Abra Joe was the Managing Director of Blaze Financial and Consulting, a travel and tourism advisory firm focused on the development and funding of differentiated business models and was engaged full-time as the Chief Commercial Officer of Waltzing Matilda Aviation and Abra.  His experiences include working as the Chief Commercial Officer at Copa Airlines, widely recognized as one of the most profitable and operationally efficient airlines in the world, CEO of Viva Air a leading ULCC group in Latin America, and American Airlines as its Vice President of Alliances and Partnerships.  Joe has served on the Board of Directors at Oneworld, China Southern Airlines, Viva Air and Developing Minds Foundation. 

Joe is a U.S. citizen and is globally minded having spent the majority of his career working and living internationally with extensive experience in Latin America, Asia and Europe.
