New York City Tourism + Conventions

Kelly Curtin has been in the membership, sales, and meetings & events industry for over 30 years. Twenty- six of those years have been with New York City Tourism + Conventions—the official destination marketing organization for New York City. As part of the leadership team at New York City Tourism + Conventions, she is responsible for directing and overseeing membership growth, retention and programs, as well as leading the destination services strategy. Her additional responsibilities include working closely with the Board of Directors and 10 membership committees as well as leading fundraising efforts for the company’s charitable organization, the New York City Tourism Foundation, which helps sustain New York City’s diverse and vibrant nonprofit arts community.

Curtin began in the industry in Washington, DC, at the Society for Neuroscience where she oversaw membership and served as Chief of Staff, handling board and committee meetings. She moved on to a similar role at the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons in Northern Virginia before she landed at the Washington, DC, Convention Sales office of the New York Conventions & Visitors Bureau.

After returning to her home state of New York, she oversaw events and trade shows for the New York Conventions & Visitors Bureau, which shortly thereafter became NYC & Company and most recently New York City Tourism + Conventions. She became a Certified Meeting Planner in 2002 and continues to tirelessly give back to the community serving on several industry boards, including the Javits Center Customer Advisory Board, the Big Apple Greeters Board, the Broadway Association and the Live Events Coalition. She is also the current Board Chair of the New York State Tourism Industry Association.

The oldest of six siblings, she grew up in Sayville, New York, and attended Providence College in Rhode Island earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She lives with her husband and two children in Point Lookout, NY. At home, she served on her local Civic Association Executive Committee for 15 years and is on the Board of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish Council and the Point Lookout Historical Society. She enjoys entertaining, the beach and seeing live music.
