RHOAR (Restore HomeOwners Autonomy & Rights)

Margenett (Mar je nay) Moore-Roberts is the founder and Principal Consultant for The Moore Roberts Group, LLC. She is also a member of RHOAR (Restore HomeOwners Autonomy & Rights) NYC, a group of NYC homeowners advocating for the rights of one-and two-family homeowners to resume doing unrestricted short-term rentals in the homes they live in.

As a homeowner and member of RHOAR, Margenett works alongside more than 550 other NYC homeowners who depend on short-term rental income to make ends meet. The group is advocating for minor amendments to NYC’s short-term rental regulations that would permit owner-occupied one-and two-family homeowners to offer short-term rentals and ensure they can afford to stay in their homes. RHOAR’s membership spans NYC’s five boroughs, with 50% of its homeowners being people of color; 54% retired, self-employed, or currently unemployed; and 25% earning less than the City’s median income.

Margenett, alongside other RHOAR advocates, has been featured in several national, regional, and local media platforms to raise awareness about this issue, most recently appearing on Spectrum News NY1’s “The Rush Hour.”

Margenett has over 25 years of business experience, working in Corporate America as a transformation agent by building strategic business units from the ground up. She has held leadership positions across Sales, Operations, Product and Market Strategy, and Human Resources for small, medium, and large organizations including Yahoo and the Interpublic Group (IPG), which includes Communications giant Weber Shandwick, Golin, Octagon Sports & Entertainment Network, and Jack Morton. Most recently Margenett worked as an equity and inclusion practitioner and consultant, supporting medium to large-size organizations that included Fortune 50 companies.
