Melanie is the Executive Director, Destination Marketing at the Royal Commission for AlUla where she leads a team of specialists to develop the brand, digital assets, trade and consumer marketing and PR to launch AlUla to the world.
A marketing leader with an outstanding track record of achievement in the tourism and hospitality industries in Australia and Asia, Melanie was included in the list of Australia’s top 50 most innovative Chief Marketing Officers in CMO Magazine 2018.
Until January 2019 Melanie worked with Visit Victoria, the marketing and events acquisition agency for the state of Victoria, Australia.
Melanie led the culturally diverse, global team of marketing professionals in achieving outstanding results for tourism in Victoria, Australia across a range of international and domestic tourism indicators which consistently outpaced Federal and other State Tourism Organisations (STOs).
Melanie successfully led the development of significant brand and tactical campaigns and pioneered export markets including China and India and is well-versed leading high-level negotiations on behalf of Government and in negotiating maximum financial and in-kind leverage from marketing partnerships.
Previous to Visit Victoria Melanie worked in the private sector in various marketing roles with the global luxury hotel chain The Oberoi Group of Hotels
