Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt is a China tourism expert with 45 years of experience. In the 1990s he was a Tour Operator for Chinese delegations to Europe and from 2002-2020 a Professor for International Tourism Management in Germany, Visiting Professor in China, UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Since 2004 he has been CEO of COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Asiatic Society and in 2021, led development of the paradigm of Meaningful Tourism and start of the Meaningful Tourism Center. He is currently Editor in Chief of COTMI China Outbound Tourism Market Intelligence.
