Seeking to reinvent the end-to-end experience of semi-private flying and fill the gap between first class seats and the private charter sector is Uma Subramanian, CEO and Aerospace Engineer of premium air travel company, Aero. As a woman-of-color, Uma is leading the charge in a male-dominated industry in what she’s citing as the return to the Golden Age of Travel—disrupting the highly commoditized first-class sector.

Founded in 2019, Aero is a premium on-demand charter service reimagining the entire travel experience. Under her leadership comes 20 years of experience in aviation–understanding what the modern traveler is looking for goes well beyond what happens in-air. With Aero, Uma was able to marry the premium services of a private jet, but at an affordable cost, all while sustaining business growth. But even prior to joining Aero, Uma was a pioneer in the urban air mobility space, leading the charge as the founding CEO of Voom Flights, an Airbus company.

Prior to aviation, Uma notably gained aerospace engineering experience while working on the NASA Project Constellation and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan.
