Yolanda González is currently based in Massachusetts, and she has been one of the National Sales Directors of Discover Puerto Rico since 2019. Originally from Puerto Rico, Yolanda began her career as an Executive Meetings Manager in 1995.  Enamored with an industry where you can be hospitable, her roles have varied in service and sales in hotels, the DMC world, and now in the DMO space.  Yolanda is pursuing her MS in Tourism, Hospitality, and Events program at The George Washington University School of Business because she aims to teach GEN X Puerto Ricans to become Hospitality Professionals.  Yolanda is also active in her local MPI, PCMA, and SITE Canada chapters.  In 2022, she received the MPI New England Sam Dame Chapter Leader of the Year Award, and in 2023, she was recognized by Smart Meetings with the Smart Women in Meetings Industry Leader Award.  Lastly, she has lived and worked in Puerto Rico, New York, Florida, California, and Massachusetts, planning and producing events with meeting planners from all market segments. Dedicated to her family and hobby of endurance running, Yolanda achieves a work-life balance by reading the Bible, remaining focused on her goals, and loving other people.
